Midsummer Night’s Dream

Tales of Enchantment presents Shakespeare’s classic romantic comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream until Sunday 7 August at the Lion and Unicorn, as part of Camden Fringe 2016.

Through a modern lense, delicately exploring the social pressure and acceptability requirements expected of women, whilst still retaining Shakespeare’s gently mockery of the capriciousness of love.

As a company, TofE looks to interpret classic plays for a modern audience – expressing Shakespeare from a feminist perspective, genderbending characters to explore LGBTQ+ rights, or even creating a different world within your home.

But above all, TofE aims for each piece to captivate an audience – and enchant them as much as we have been – with its intimacy and perception.

TofE is a two-woman company. Frances White, producer and stage manager, has recently finished working with a highly successful site-specific piece on its New York début, whilst director Jude Malcomson has worked in the West End with James McAvoy and at the RSC.
