Townies YouTube series brought to the stage for Camden Fringe debut

James Bone Townies Camden Fringe.jpgThe Townie Arms is like any regular suburban pub, except in this place regulars include a New Age Traveller, an Old Skool Raver, an ambitious cab driver and a disgraced ex-Met Police Chief.

Based on his YouTube series of the same name, TOWNIES sees Bone and his alter-egos taking centre stage in that champion setting of small-talk and problem sharing…the local pub.

James Bone, who created this new character comedy show, said: “Townies is my debut show so it will be the first ever full performances that I do at the Camden Fringe. It is set around these characters that I have and it is based on a single night in this pub.

“The lead character is a guy called The Traveller, who thinks of himself as a new age traveller but never really leaves his home town. I know  a few guys like that. He is working in the pub, doing his own little story.

“Then within that, random characters turn up and the night takes a twisted turn. It is character comedy but they are all telling their now little stories. I’ve been doing this character for two and a half years, and then the other three in between. It’s the first time I’ve brought them all together.”
